About the Diploma of Psychological Studies

The Diploma of Psychological Studies is designed to provide you with a broad introduction to the field of psychology in a supportive, student-centred learning environment. The program will prepare you for further study or for an entry level professional career.

You will explore a broad range of subject areas relating to psychology as practice, study and science. You will have a better understanding of career planning and management, as well as develop literacy skills that will enhance your academic and professional communication and language capabilities.

Once you complete the Diploma of Psychological Studies, opportunities include progression to the second year of the degree program in Psychology, or an entry level position in the business sector.

Note: Students intending to articulate into the Bachelor of Psychology with a major in Psychological Science and a second major in Criminology must complete CRM1001 (Introduction to Criminology) and 6 credit points of Specified Electives. All other students must complete 9 credit points of Specified Electives.

A1003 - Diploma of Psychological Studies

Second year of your Murdoch University Dubai degree

  • Bachelor of Psychology (Psychological Science)

Successful completion of the Diploma will allow you to enter into second year of a bachelor’s degree at Murdoch University Dubai Campus with 8 units of credit.

You must complete and pass the required eight units for your Diploma.

Faculty Profile – Psychology

Discipline Lead – Dr. Magdalena Mosanya

Dr Magdalena Mosanya holds a PhD in Psychology from the Institute of Psychology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, an MSc in psychology from Middlesex University, and an MA in cultural anthropology and communication from Silesian University. She is the Discipline Lead for Psychology and Criminology, as well as Student Counsellor at Murdoch University Dubai.

Dr Magdalena’s extensive research experience is reflected in her authorship of numerous scientific publications and speeches given at international conferences. Her research interests span a wide range of areas, including intercultural communication, the well-being of third culture kids (TCKs), sports psychology, and women’s emancipation. In addition, she is proficient in various therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioural therapy and EMDR.
