That’s why we offer a wide range of services, resources, and activities designed to help you feel supported, balanced, and connected throughout your student journey.

Student Wellbeing Support

Maheen Shahab

Counsellor and Learning Support Advisor

Maheen Shahab is an integrative psychotherapist whose work draws on person-centred therapy, attachment theory, and cognitive behavioural therapy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Middlesex University and a Master’s in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling from the University of Derby. Her passion for understanding the human experience and relational dynamics led her to pursue a career in counselling and psychotherapy.

Maheen is committed to tailoring her therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each individual. She actively engages in continuous professional development to deepen her practice, with a recent focus on Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy.

Outside of her professional work, Maheen enjoys staying active through strength training, Pilates, and yoga. She has a passion for reading and writing poetry and is deeply committed to animal welfare, often caring for street cats in her community.

Student Wellbeing Events

At Murdoch University Dubai, we organise a variety of events and activities throughout the year to promote student wellbeing and engagement. These include mental health awareness campaigns, stress management workshops, yoga and mindfulness sessions, fitness challenges, and wellness talks led by industry experts.

Students can also participate in community-building activities, such as cultural celebrations, social events, and peer support programs that foster a sense of belonging on campus. Our ongoing events can be found as part of our Aspire Events, where students can explore opportunities to connect, learn, and enhance their overall wellbeing.
